MeowFire came into existence from a combination of love for our cats, the necessity to protect our plants, stifled creativity at a corporate job and an abundance of meowspurration.
Liz and Jasun Lovefury are the creative forces behind all that is MeowFire. Our goal is to create products that are catcentric, fun, durable and useful. We are a Cat Mom and Pop shop running out of our house in Westminster, Colorado. Liz creates soft goods and embrocations. Jasun is the technologist that designs, prototypes and manufactures products.
Dr. Liz Lovefury, DAOM
Purrsident
After earning a degree in Asian Studies from Vassar College, Liz made the obvious career leap to being a dresser on Broadway and ultimately makeup artist for The Phantom of the Opera in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Just to keep things interesting, she then pursued a Master’s of Science degree and become an acupuncturist, using the career change to launch a return to Colorado where Liz’s family has been for multiple generations. Once those student loans were paid off, she did the predictable thing and took out more in order to get a doctorate in Acupuncture and East Asian medicine.
MeowFire is enabling Liz’s love of sewing useful things out of fun and beautiful textiles, updating and repurposing clothing and making practical and purpose driven good smelling things for people’s paws, claws and meow-holes!
Jasun Lovefury
Principal MeowTech
Jasun grew up on Air Force bases and was a geek before it was cool. Upon graduating high school he enlisted in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician on the E3 AWACS. While stationed in Okinawa Japan he bought his first PC and worked part time at an Internet service provider. Wanting to work more on Internet than airplanes he was honorably discharged and bounced around various tech jobs and used his GI Bill for a degree in Political Science with a minor in Communication from Portland State University.
It was in Portland where Jasun met Liz through a snowboarding nonprofit where he volunteered. Liz convinced him and his kitty buddy, Gus Gus, to move to Colorado where Jasun continued working in tech until he had enough with brogrammers and the inept managers that empowered them. This time allowed him to work with his hands again to build an awesome Catio and focus his tech skills create the Kitty No Plant Protectors.
MeowNuka
Cat Logician
MeowNuka was rescued from the mean streets of Cañon City and currently spends her time napping. In her waking hours she is loudly and frequently correcting our flawed logic.
Mayhem
Destructive Testing
Mayhem is adept at destroying pretty much anything she puts her paws on. She is also the resident fearless escape artist who will find and exploit any and all flaws.
MoJo
Fixer
Fluff and cuteness are MoJo’s best qualities. When those fail he is not shy about using muscle, especially when he is keeping his sister Mayhem out of harm’s way.
